Early-stage governance observation for AI-enabled systems
The G3 Readiness Snapshot is a high-level written observation under the IGSB G-Series Governance Framework, applied to AI-enabled systems through the G3 Technology & AI Governance Standard.
It provides an initial view of whether governance arrangements relating to AI-enabled systems are clearly evidenced within submitted information.
The Snapshot does not constitute certification, assurance, audit opinion, legal advice, technical system review, regulatory approval, or consultancy.
The Snapshot has been developed for organisations seeking an early-stage view of governance readiness where AI-enabled systems are used, planned, or under review.
It provides a structured written observation focused on governance oversight, accountability, traceability, and the evidence available to demonstrate governance in practice.
The Snapshot is not a formal assessment. It is limited in scope and based solely on information submitted for review.
The Snapshot considers selected areas aligned to the G-Series Governance Framework and the G3 Technology & AI Governance Standard.
Whether responsibility for AI-related governance is visible, defined, and connected to appropriate oversight structures.
Whether AI-enabled systems are identified, understood, and assigned ownership within the organisation.
Whether mechanisms exist to monitor system behaviour, outputs, or deviation once systems are in use.
Whether review, escalation, or override pathways are defined where system outputs require intervention.
Whether decisions, outputs, or system behaviour can be traced, reviewed, and connected to accountable roles.
The output is a short written observation note.
It may include a high-level summary of the information reviewed, evidence classifications, key governance observations, and areas where submitted evidence appears limited or unclear.
The Snapshot does not provide implementation advice, technical assurance, legal opinion, regulatory confirmation, or certification status.
Findings are expressed using controlled evidence language.
The submitted information does not provide clear evidence of the governance arrangement being present.
The submitted information indicates that elements of the governance arrangement may exist, but evidence is incomplete, unclear, or not consistently documented.
The submitted information provides sufficient evidence to identify the governance arrangement within the limited scope of review.
To support a G3 Readiness Snapshot, organisations may be asked to provide high-level written information relating to the use, oversight, and governance of AI-enabled systems.
This may include whether AI-enabled systems are currently used within operational decision-making processes, whether ownership or accountability is defined at governance level, whether mechanisms are in place to monitor system behaviour or outputs, whether review or intervention pathways are defined, and whether decisions or outputs are traceable and reviewable.
IGSB may request additional clarification where required. All correspondence is conducted in writing.
The G3 Readiness Snapshot is limited in scope.
It does not constitute certification, assurance, audit opinion, legal advice, consultancy, technical system review, regulatory approval, or confirmation of compliance.
The Snapshot is based solely on information submitted for review and should not be relied upon as confirmation of compliance with any legal, regulatory, contractual, or statutory requirement.
Organisations wishing to request a G3 Readiness Snapshot should contact IGSB in writing and include the organisation name, sector, and a brief description of the governance area or AI-enabled systems under consideration.
Participation is limited and subject to scope.
